Cal. 10.55x25R. S# 1851. Bbl. 5" stepped oct. to rnd. w/ integral inverted V front sight. Mfg. 1885 w/ blued finish; hammer & trigger in the white. Matching numbers on all visible parts except for the loading gate pivot screw that is numbered 65. Dreyse marked sideplate. Multiple unit markings, most recent, "I.A.6.65", several others lined or X'ed out including "45.R.2.2." and "1.M.II.1.R.134.". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: near excellent brown leather flap holster having brass stud retention. Front of holster w/ cartridge pouch having provision for 2 rows of 6 cartridges; buckle & strap retention. Back has dual angled belt loops. Top front of holster clearly stamped "JULIUS JANSEN/STRASSBURG". CONDITION: good to very good overall w/ more wear on straps as one might expect from a revolver that has seen moderate service. Comparable condition grips w/ early oxidation of matching escutcheons. Good bore w/ light to moderate pitting & frosting. A nice, and complete, 1883 rig as issued to the German military.
