RIFLE. Cal. 11.3x51R. S# 112G. Numbers match on receiver, bolt assembly & mag. follower. Numbers "4056" appear on left side of the bbl. over chamber & over buttplate. Bbl. 32.7". Bbl. is dated 1885 & is marked w/ numerous crown proofs. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1,800 meters. Inverted V front sight. Rifle was originally mfg. as a single-shot & was converted after 1888 to accept a Vitali 4 rd mag., converting the rifle into a repeater. These rifles are also unique, having the main spring located in the bolt handle instead of the bolt body. Buttplate is dated 1891. Walnut stock has legible markings including a circular mark on the right side of the buttstock w/ the royal crown over "W" then "DELFT" 1886. Forend has two solid bands retained by springs. Lower band carries the swivel w/ the rear swivel at the bottom of the buttstock. Replacement cleaning rod. CONDITION: stock set has added finish over moderate wear & handling marks, but leaving markings intact & legible. Metal is in the white & has the appearance of being cleaned w/ the exception of the rear sight leaf & mag. which retain a large amount of their original bluing. Very good shiny bore w/ strong sharp lands. (01-26085/RW). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
