Per Luger book by Sturgess, small batch orders shipped to Broqua and Scholberg (department store in Montevideo, Uruguay) within S# range of 250XX to 357XX (1st smaller shipment); he also refers to these as Commercial P.04 having no markings other than BUG proofs. Book on Lugers by Davis uses title designation. Consignor repeats the Sturgess information and states that this pistol was the personal sidearm for an Army Colonel in Uruguay; early 1970 when a militant leftist group was active. Further he states it was carried along with the mag. pouch on a belt around the waist with belt loops added to holster and pouch. MAGS: 2 tin plated 8 rd. with plain, unmarked wood bases; no concentric circles. Very good appearance with occasional small amount of staining. Holster returned to original configuration with the disks on cleaning rod flap and pouch for tool being replacements from identical 1906 Navy holster in Uruguay. Presently has short new leather straps solely to retain holster to stock. Very good appearing mag. pouch; still altered with belt loop on back. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance with minimal high point wear at common points such as stock lug area, sideplate and at muzzle. Very good grips with light hand wear slightly flattening diamond tops; two or three damaged tops on left plus a little extra wear on right.
