Cal. 30 Luger. S# 26568. Bbl. 4 3/4" w/ saw tooth shaped front sight, Swiss "BP" proof & full matching number; no other marks. Receiver Swiss "BP" proofed w/ cross in sunburst over chamber. Police model had cross in shield over chamber, Commercial model had commercial BUG proofs & 1906/20 Model had 4" bbl. Standard DWM Model mfg. in S# range 25050 to 69000 indicating this pistol assembled & proofed in Switzerland w/ parts from standard 1906 model. Matching numbers on takedown lever, trigger, grip safety, sideplate, breech block & rear toggle. GELADEN marked extractor shows only faint "5". Checkered walnut grips have 2 digit numbers that are illegible. Strawed sm. parts w/ serrated safety lever; safe in upper position w/ "GESICHERT". Narrow trigger guard, wide trigger, fire blued grip screws & appropriate internal areas in the white. MAGS: 1 very good plated 8 rd. w/ unmarked wood base having disks. Very faint chips at bottom of left circle. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance w/ Swiss quality throughout. Some faint high point thinning such as high edge of sideplate, front edge of frame & top of front sight. Very nice, vivid straw colors (slight fading on safety lever & mag. release); very good dark grips w/ slight hand wear. Near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: Formally of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess Collection.
