SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH STOCK & HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Para. S# 7191i. Bbl 7 7/8". Standard configuration LP.08 manufactured by DWM in 1917 for the Imperial German military. The receiver is stamped "1917" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German reichsadler present on the right side, which is also present on the barrel and breechblock. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Major metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, with some smaller components exhibiting strawed or nitre blued finishes. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching (excluding the magazine) and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety bar & lever, hold-open latch, barrel, rear sight assembly, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster stamped and dated "A. Dittmar/ BERLIN/ 1916" attached to a non-matching Imperial proofed flat board wood buttstock. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to a gray patina overall. Strawed components exhibit varying degrees of wear, with some scattered spots of age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting areas of light pitting and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, with a few scattered nicks and minor impressions to the diamonds, but are otherwise good. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered marks from handling and storage, with some spots of age related cracking and mild crazing. Stock shows scattered handling marks, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (23-898/MLW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
