ACCESSORIES. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 6705. Bbl. 7 7/8". LP.08 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. by DWM in 1918 for the Imperial German military. The bbl. extension is marked "1918" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Major metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, with the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector having been reheated. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, with some parts appearing to have been renumbered at one time to match at one time. Grips are unnumbered. MAGS: 2 contemporary 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original LP.08 black leather holster (mfg. and date markings mostly illegible) containing a contemporary cleaning rod and loading tool. Holster is fitted with a contemporary shoulder stock, sling, and 2-cell mag. pouch. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some pitting beneath the finish, with most factory markings having been softened. Strawed parts exhibit little wear overall. Bore is fairly bright as refinished, exhibiting consistent dark pitting while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Grips are very good overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks as well as scattered spots of age-related cracking and crazing overall. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Jim Williams.
