Cal. 7x57 (7mm Mauser). S# C655. Bbl. 29". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Rear sight and turned-down C prefix bolt are mismatched. Other visible parts are matching to the receiver, including the cleaning rod. The C-block 1895 Chilean Mauser was originally intended for sale to the Boers, but they were unable to be delivered due to the British blockade. Left side of receiver has DWM markings. Receiver top has Chilean crest. Blued finish. Walnut stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows four plugs on left side of action, some light chips, scattered dings, and handling marks. Metal retains 85% arsenal blue with some fading, oxidation, dried grease, and edge wear. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Good, bright bore with some light pitting and scattered frosting.
