PISTOL WITH WWII PRODUCTION HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 14963. Bbl. 4 3/4". Model 1900 American Eagle Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM for commercial sales within the United States. The bbl. extension is marked with the Great Seal of the United States over the chamber, with the intertwined "DWM" monogram marked on the forward toggle link. Front of the frame is stamped "GERMANY" below the S#. Metal components exhibit a professionally reapplied blue finish, with some small parts exhibiting either a reheated straw or nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which appear to be either quality reproductions or recut at one time. Replacement brass tipped blade front sight, with standard V-notch rear sight. Old Model frame and breechblock, with dished toggle ears and anti-rebound arm. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, bbl., bbl. extension, and toggles. Grips are matching via "63" on the interior of the panels. MAGS: 1 tinned 8-rd. mag., with imperially proofed wood plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked "SCHAMBACH & Co/ BERLIN/ 1939" above an eagle proof on the rear. Holster contains an imperially proofed mag. and unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their professionally reapplied blue finish, showing some light edge wear, as well as scattered spots/areas of light pitting beneath the finish. Strawed parts show light wear, but otherwise present nicely. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Front sight is loosely fit and prone to slipping off. Grips show light smoothing and a few minor marks. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered marks from handling and storage, with spots/areas of light to mild crazing overall. (25-3257/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
