CARBINE. Cal. 7.65x53mm Mauser. S# A8331. Bbl. 22 1/2". Model 1909 Argentino Cavalry carbine, mfg. by DWM under contract for Argentina. The receiver is marked with the Argentine coat of arms over the chamber, with "MAUSER MODELO/ ARGENTINO 1909," followed by DWM's mfg. information on the left. Receiver, bolt stop, and bolt assembly have been heavily polished in-the-white, with remaining metal components exhibiting a reapplied matte blue finish. Plain wood straight grip stock and handguard have been sanded and revarnished. Buttstock exhibits a large metal repaired crack at the wrist, with a large repair and several smaller repairs present on and around the butt. Standard blade front sight with tangent rear sight graduated 2-14. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, bolt handle, and trigger guard. CONDITION: Polished in-the-white components are very good overall, as refinished, with the Argentine crest having been mostly obliterated and other factory markings having significantly softened. Blued components retain the majority of their reapplied finish, exhibiting some light wear, superficial handling marks, as well as pitting beneath the finish overall. Dark bore, exhibiting pitting while retaining good rifling throughout. Stock and handguard are good, as sanded and revarnished, with the stock exhibiting the aforementioned repairs. (24-4204/MLW).
