PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 3240a. Bbl. 4 5/8" unmarked replacement having tall coarsely serrated sight blade integral to base; no dovetail. Date normally marked on chamber has been removed plus assembled from mismatched parts to include Navy toggle assembly. Model determined by proofs on matching numbered receiver plus serial number range that could be for any year 1913-1918. No presence of marine proofs. Matching number #34 on toggles & breech block; extractor #67. Other numbers are: trigger #35, safety bar #20, takedown lever #13, hold open latch #06 & sear #85; no other numbered items. MAGS: fair tin plated 8 rd. w/ repair to reshaped & unmarked wood base having concentric circles in dimples. Cleaned oxidation on body. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: about good brown Swiss holster missing front belt loop. Back marked "JON BLASER" / "SATTLER" / "BERN" / "04". CONDITION: all refinished at some point w/ very good appearing toggle assembly. Good general appearance w/ peppery oxidation & slight patina tone. Good plus right grip; left w/ chip by safety lever & at bottom front. Minimal straw colors; trigger is best appearing. Near excellent bore. Good "shooter" or basis for Navy recreation. Curio status voided by non standard replacement bbl. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Jack Verret Sr. (22-865/NW). MODERN. $700-1,000.
