THE NAVY STYLE, WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 2635a. Bbl. 8". Model 1920 Commercial Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM. Left side of the bbl. extension is marked with a Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Left side of the breechblock is marked with a partially legible Weimar Eagle/WaA4 proof. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece reproduction checkered wood grips, retained by a single strawed reproduction grip screw on either panel. Aftermarket contemporary production 8" bbl., with reproduction blade front sight. Navy pattern V-notch rear sight, graduated 100 and 200. Sight graduation markings appear to have been enhanced at one time. All serialized parts are matching (save for on the safety lever and rear toggle pin), with many parts appearing to have been renumbered to match at one time. Bbl. has been numbered to match and marked with a later applied Crown/N proof. MAGS: 1 blued MEC-GAR 8-rd. mag., with black synthetic concentric circle plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1 aftermarket/reproduction unmarked brown leather holster, containing an unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild thinning, with scattered spots of light to mild pitting present beneath the finish overall. Bbl. shows thinning overall, with splotches and finish loss present primarily on the underside. Strawed parts are very good, showing some light wear, as well as scattered areas of light to mild pitting. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper mechanical function. Grips show light smoothing, with the left panel exhibiting a crack stemming from the screw slot. Holster shows some cracking and age related discoloration, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Cleaning rod provision's stud has come out, but is present in the flap. Loading tool shows scattered spots of light to mild oxidation overall. (25-3560/MLW). MODERN. $2,000-3,000.
