INTRIGUING WORLD WAR I ERA HOLSTER & BELT. Cal 30 Luger. S# 6028l. Bbl 3 3/4". Model 1920 Commercial Luger manufactured by DWM after the conclusion of World War I from both surplus and newly fabricated components for domestic and foreign commercial sale. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Crown/ N commercial nitro proof is present on the receiver, barrel, and breechblock. Right side of receiver is stamped "GERMANY". Metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, with some smaller components exhibiting either strawed or nitre blued finishes. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. MAGS: 1 7 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: an extremely intriguing World War I holster stamped "SATTLER GEN."/ 1916/ DUSSELDORF" with a partially discenible ink stamp appearing to read "B.A.XI.", followed by period hand writing that appears to be a name above "I.M.G.K.", which would indicate 1st Machine Gun Company. Holster is fitted with a 1941 dated brown leather belt that has been cut and modified at the Third Reich era belt buckle. CONDITION: metal components exhibit wear that shows through to gray patina and mild to moderate pitting overall. Poor bore, exhibiting pitting and traces of rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (23-999/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
