REVOLVER. Cal. 42 Cupfire. S# 8561. Bbl. 3 1/2". Plant's Patent single action revolver mfg. by Eagle Manufacturing Co. Top of the solid bbl. rib is marked with a partially legible address that appears to read "EAGLE ARMS CO. NEW YORK". Side of cyl. is marked with a single line of patent information. Brass frame is mounted with 2-piece plain wood grips. Left panel is carved "1898", with "LGR" and a star carved on the right panel. Flattened brass blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. Right grip panel matches the frame, with remaining parts and components being unnumbered. CONDITION: brass frame has acquired a mellow patina, exhibiting small scattered superficial handling marks overall. Steel parts have faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild pitting and superficial handling marks. Bore exhibits scattered spots and patches of moderate pitting, while retaining fair rifling throughout. Action does not function, with the cyl. not rotating.
