SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR. Cal. 45. S# 33466. Bbl. 5 1/2". This is an early Artillery Model, all matching other than bbl. "33501" made 1895-1896. This revolver, other than bbl., retains all matching components w/ "LD" Lewis Draper subinspected frame from original 1877 production. This gun is listed by S# in “Kopec & Fenn” as 1 of 345, 1876-1877 mfg. pistols which half were altered to Artillery. Bbl. has last 4 digits of S# 3501 w/ same John T. Cleveland (JTC) inspection as on cyl. Standard one line bbl. address w/ hyphens. CONDITION: very good overall, bbl. retains about 60% thinning armory blue. Balance of metal mottled gray w/ areas of pitting. Address & other markings all discernable. Grips are well fit, refinished w/ only outlines of cartouches on either side from their original 1877 configuration. Mechanically fine w/ crisp, rifled bore. (01-20203/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,500-5,000.
