HOLSTER PISTOL CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION.
Cal. 45. NSN. Bbl. 6 1/2" relief filed, has silver inlay on top. Arched rnd. body lock is fitted w/ newer hammer. There are silver inlays in front of hammer & at tail. Walnut stock has raised fields around all mts., some are nicely carved. Brass knob type grip cap w/ side spurs has boss silver inlaid w/ man’s head. Another head appears on relief filed trigger guard bow. Sideplate has inlay similar to that found on lock. Hickory ramrod has brass tip. CONDITION: iron parts cleaned to silver gray, stocks retain old finish w/ numerous marks, furniture nicely toned. Good bore w/ pitting. Lock will not cock. PROVENANCE: From the JM Davis Museum Collection. (01-19877/MGM). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
