PISTOL. Cal. .69. NSN. Bbl. 9". A classic Dutch or Belgian flintlock sea service pistol from the late 1820s or early 1830s. The round bbl. is unmarked, as is the lock. Brass trigger guard, buttcap, screw escutcheons, bbl. pin escutcheons, and nosecap. The butt has two large iron screws with a central iron lanyard ring. The bbl. is secured by a rectangular bar that is now missing. CONDITION: metal has a dark patina but remains unpitted. Lock is stuck at full cock. The stock, on the opposite side of the lock, appears to show significant moisture damage with some insect damage, likely from the pistol having lain on that side for many years in a damp environment. Fair bore. (01-26038/BF). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
