ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. S# 5100. Mfg. approx. 1926 after the Marlin Firearm Corp., distinguished by the six pointed inspection star on the upper tang & the toeline "bullseye". Special Smokeless Steel oct. 26" bbl.; appears to be a clean up part with lightly washed cal. marking. 10 Shot tubular mag. German silver blade front sight & elevator rear sight. Case hardened receiver. Walnut stock set w/ curved buttplate. CONDITION: over 90% original blue on barrel & mag. tube with marks on mag. tube with pinprick patina throughout. Good vivid original case colors with peeling finish, peppery oxidation & wear. Good worn wood finish with blistering finish on sides of buttstock along with numerous dings & marks. Very good shiny bore with strong rifling. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (25-4214/MD). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
