13.5" Overall, 9.75" heavy meaty blade w/ 2.5" clip, 0.42" thick at ricasso, 2” wide, rounded top edge, 2” heavy brass crossguard, brass ferrule, polished bone grip.
This style knife often described in early American literature as “butcher knife” when describing knives carried by frontiersman 1820s-1830s. blade form is very similar to the Caiaphas Ham well known bowie knife displayed at the Alamo a gift from Rezin Bowie. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Blade is mostly dark with pitting, very sharp, grip cleaned with toned patinas. (02-16931/JS). $2,000-3,000.
