Cal. 62. NSN. Bbl. 9 7/8" round w/ smoothbore & brass sight. Typical of early American pistols from the Revolutionary War period. Lock appears to be replacement as the touch hole is not centered w/ the pan. Lock has no remaining legible markings. Pin fastened round butt stock. Brass fittings consist of butt cap, trigger guard, side plate, thimble & single pipe. Hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: metal has mottled gray brown appearance showing pitting that becomes heaviest in flash hole area. Wood shows wear & handling marks w/ heavy dents & wood erosion above lock. Small cracks & chips are found in lock & forearm areas. Functioning lock. Dark pitted bore. (01-23046/DS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
