FROM PERCUSSION. Cal. 78. NSN. Bbl. 46 1/4", marked "NO 299" on top. Lock w/ deeply arched & Chamfered plate has been reconverted w/ newer reinforced cock, faceted pan, unbridled frizzen & new feather spring. Robust walnut stock has deeply fluted comb, raised carving around bbl. tang, palm swell & is brass mounted. Mounts are early style w/ long top tang to buttplate engraved "A". Stock is pinned to bbl. Sling loops are missing & old tapered ramrod is present through faceted brass pipes. CONDITION: bbl. w/ old brown patina showing cleaning at breech end. As said before, lock reconverted. Rear portion of stock has attractive older surfaces. Wood replaced from thimble forward. Cleaned brass is toning nicely. Lock is operable. Pitted bore.
