14" Overall, 9.5" meaty blade w/ 3" clip, 0.4" thick at ricasso, beveled top edge. This style knife often described in early American literature as “butcher knife” when describing knives carried by frontiersman 1820s-1830s, this style fits the bill, guard less weapons with but one use for fighting. Blade form is very similar in size and form to the Caiaphas Ham well known bowie knife displayed at the Alamo. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Blade is overall iron patina with pitting, still very sharp. Grip is wood with iron ferrules, like found on many tools of the day. (02-16930/JS). $2,000-3,000.
