CASE. Cal. 40 S&W. S# 002720. Bbl. 3 7/8". M40 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by in Austria Steyr Mannlicher in July of 1999 (indicated by date code on interior of frame) and imported by GSI. Left side of the slide is marked "STEYR M40", followed by the cal. designation, with "AUSTRIA 002720 STEYR MANNLICHER" marked on the right. Left side of frame is molded "GSI.T'VILLE.AL", with an Austrian eagle and NPV proof (repeated on right side of slide and bbl.) marked on the right. Slide exhibits a matte gray finish, with the bbl. exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is comprised of black polymer. Dovetailed white triangle front sight with dovetailed notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: x2 blued steel 10-rd. mags. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory black synthetic hard case. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall, with some light wear present on the bbl. at the breech from cycling of the action. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Frame is excellent overall. Case shows some light exterior wear from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-661/MLW).
