Cal. 65. NSN. Bbl. 10" swamped w/ turned rings at rear & midpoint. Very early lock w/ arched rounded plate has serpentine hammer, inset rounded pan, unbridled frizzen & feather spring w/ long foliate finial. Lock, in front of cock, is engraved “A ‘ LIEGE”. Walnut stock extends to muzzle, is pinned to bbl. & has birds head grip. There are raised moldings around lockplate, scrolled brass sideplate, trigger guard w/ relief acanthus & thimble. Other brass furniture includes relief engraved grip cap w/ long back spur, crestplate & thimble. Replacement iron ramrod mounts through plain brass pipe. CONDITION: iron parts show heavy cleaning to silver gray over considerable dark pitting. Stock w/ many repairs under heavy black lacquer shows some worm damage. Brass nicely toned. Rusted bore, lock will not cock. (01-19435/MGM). ANTIQUE. $800-1,500.
