This horn measures approx. 14 1/2" in length and 3" in width at the butt. The butt is a rounded plug of wood. The spout is simply carved in an octagonal form. The body of the horn has 2 small engraved fish with the initials "H Y A" above "C 1778". The date appears early but may not be original to the horn. There is a small old paper tag attached that reads "Powder Horn Loan by Mrs D.L. Rogers". CONDITION: horn is quite scraped up showing heavy use and is broken on one side of the plug with losses, and a 3 1/2" crack extending into the horn. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of James B.
