SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 767789. Bbl. 3 1/4". Model PPK semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther for commercial sales. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by marking stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece post-war Walther banner checkered black plastic grips. Slide features a matte grooved rib, a fixed blade front sight with fixed U-notch rear sight, as well as a 90 degree safety lever. Interior of slide appears to be numbered "84M", which is lightly inscribed parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: 1 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of thinning and wear that show through to gray patina, scattered areas of heavy pitting, as well as areas with striations from prior cleaning. Bright bore, exhibiting areas of varying degrees of pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some light smoothing, as well as some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-323/MLW). CURIO. $500-1,000.
