Cal. 8x57. S# 3809d. Bbl. 29". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2050m. Matching numbers on receiver, bbl. jacket, bottom of stock, floorplate & bolt body. Other parts mismatched including small bolt parts. Firing pin clipped, extractor & bolt head both missing. No unit markings present. Receiver top has 1889 date with Danzig & crown markings. Left side of receiver has early "G. MOD 88" markings. Buttplate has "7" Rastatt depot rework marking. Receiver & the bolt are "in-the-white". Other parts blued. Walnut stock set with faint Imperial markings. Bottom mounted sling swivels with added rear swivel. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: stock shows a small crack on right side of butt, scattered dings, staining, handling marks & scratches. Receiver, bolt & buttplate are mostly a gray patina with overall oxidation & dried grease. Other metal parts retain a high degree of German arsenal blue with scattered fading to gray & oxidation throughout. Striker assembly not functioning properly when safety is engaged & will require attention to fix. Bore shows scattered oxidation & dried grease but has evident rifling. (01-27024/MJC).
