This dagger measures 14 1/4" overall with a plain 10" blade that has a raised medial ridge and is marked with cross & orb on both sides. The hilt is iron and brass with a down turned crossguard showing swelled quillons. The grip and pommel are again iron and brass melded together in an artistic and appealing way. The pommel appears to be wire wrapped but in actuality, the brass is inlaid into the iron to simulate wire. Truly exceptional workmanship. No sheath. CONDITION: the blade has an overall dark gray peppery patina. The brass in the hilt shows a mellow dark mustard patina and the iron is similar to the blade. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis.(02-24793/BF). $500-800.
