SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 202138. Bbl. 3". Behordenmodell semi-automatic pistol mfg. by J.P. Sauer & Sohn. Left side of the slide is marked "CAL. 7,65.", with "PATENT" on the right, and with "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL (J.P. Sauer & Sohn Logo)" marked across the top of the solid rib. Right side of the frame is marked with a horizontal Crown/N commercial nitro proof, which is repeated on the right side of the bbl. and on the rear of the slide cap. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the rear sight / slide cap spring, which exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, the left panel marked "Cal. 7,65 m/m" above Sauer's encircled "SUS" monogram. Early Behordenmodell half-moon blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, safety lever (interior), slide (underside), and slide cap (interior). MAGS: x2 7-rd. mags. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: generic cardboard box containing an unmarked period brown leather holster, a spare set of grip panels, as well as a contemporary black rubber grip sleeve. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina and some scattered spots of light pitting overall. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some light smoothing and a few superficial handling marks, with the left panel exhibiting a large repaired vertical crack that runs almost the length of the panel. Spare grips are very good overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some scattered spots of crazing and age related cracking. Stitching is torn at and around the closure flap strap area, with the strap having mostly torn free from the body. (26-1497/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
