WITH ZEISS SCOPE. Cal. 6.5x57. S# 14792. The 20 1/2" light weight barrel has sleeved on rear base holding one standing and one folding leaf rear sight. Front ramp is nicely checkered and holds silver bead. Left side is marked "MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA". Caliber is stamped on top rear, S# and 1947 proofs are on left. Small ring 98 Mauser type action with solid sidewall, spoon bolt handle and redesigned shroud with side safety is marked with CZ logo on checkered receiver ring; maker's name is on sidewall. Action is fitted with claw scope bases. Bottom metal is fitted with double set triggers; floorplate is removed with push button. Trigger guard is separate in late style. Full length stock of relatively plain European walnut measures 14-1/2" over checkered plastic buttplate and features right hand cheekpiece, plastic grip cap, steel nose cap and sling loops. Checkering is of point pattern. What are possibly original scope bases are fitted with custom claw rings holding Zeiss Diatal -ZA 4X32 scope with three post reticle. Leather sling is fitted. CONDITION: fine. Metal retaining about 90% original blue. Wood has some later varnish over what appears to be original finish; checkering lightly worn. Bore is shiny with some wear evident on lands. Scope is exceptionally fine; optically clear. Mechanically fine. (23-4645/MGM). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
