ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 122492. Bbl. 26" Barrel marked behind front sight "W"/ "flaming bomb"/ "1-18". Receiver has a very early serial # and the left rail carries the encircled "star" which indicates non-interchangeable parts. There is also the "flaming bomb at the same location. All visible parts markings are "W". Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1600 yards. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. The walnut stock set has clearly visible markings and a very dark brown finish which appears original. CONDITION: the stock set shows light wear and a number of small handling marks. Metal retains a large part of its original blue with some parts, notably the bolt handle, bolt shroud, rear sight ladder and front sight have an appearance of patina. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands. (25-2786/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
