MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S#108535. Bbl. 24" Barrel marked behind front sight "SA"/ flaming bomb / "05". Receiver produced in 1906. Ladder rear sight w/ volley notch graduated to 2850 yards. Small dished and grooved sight adjusting knobs. Blade front sight with sight cover. Straight down bolt handle. Bolt marked "18" under safety lug. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate. "High Wood" "S" walnut stock with single recoil bolt. Handguard has two clips and sighting groove. Model 1907 brown leather sling with illegible markings. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has a moderately worn arsenal rework finish with numerous handling marks. Several small cracks behind receiver tang. Most metal has turned grey with wear and peppery oxidation. Barrel is arsenal rework blue. (25-2818/RW). CURIO. $600-1,000.
