Cal. roughly 60. NSN. Bbl. 10" round w/ faceted transitions & smoothbore. Right side of bbl. at breech has London proofs of the 1672 type. Engraved unbridled banana lock is marked “M. Stones” (London 1660s-1700s). Queen Anne’s style curled trigger. Pin fastened walnut stock w/ extensive relief carving. 12 facet brass butt cap w/ grotesque mask. Engraved trigger guard w/ fleur-de-lis finial. Brass flying dragon side plate. Ornate thumb plate. Ebony ramrod is held by a faceted thimble & single faceted pipe. CONDITION: metal has cleaned gray appearance w/ scattered very light pitting. Brass parts show recent cleaning. Stock has added varnish over wear & handling marks. Grip is broken & repaired approx. 2 3/4" from butt. Functioning lock. Lightly pitted bore. (01-23077/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
