REVOLVER. Cal. 38/200. S# L8743. Bbl. 5". No. 2 Mk I* double action revolver mfg. at the Enfield arsenal in 1940. Right side of the frame is marked "ENFIELD/ No2 (CROWN) MkI*/ 1940". Underside of bbl. is "GSAD" import marked, with "CAL.38" stamped over the top of the rib. Frame, cyl., and bbl. exhibit various British proofs. Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Aluminum blade front sight, with square notch rear sight. Striker on hammer is a crude brass replacement. Lanyard swivel on butt has been ground. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., and bbl. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal reapplied parkerized finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some light surface oxidation overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting while retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-5470/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
