Cal. 577/450. S #558. Bbl. 33". Top rear of Bbl. marked w/ an "F" and cross symbol. Rear of bbl. also has British proofs on both sides at rear. Left side of Bbl. marked "NS NEP" for Nepal Native Service to left of rear sight. Right side of receiver is marked w/ British crown, "V.R.", "ENFIELD", 1887, "IV", "1" & w/ an upside down "3". This rifle is a conversion from an earlier short lever Martini rifle. Rear sight graduated to 1300 yards. Front blade sight. Bands have British proofs. Walnut stock set. 1906 date, British ordnance roundel & Nepalese markings on right side of butt. Markings look enhanced. Ramrod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brass muzzle cover marked w/ British proofs & lined-out 658. CONDITION: refinished stock set w/ a couple patch repairs in ramrod channel, a couple filler repairs, some dings & handling marks. Metal shows a mix of arsenal rework and touch blue w/ a few areas of light pitting, light oxidation & handling marks. Very good bore. (01-21071/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
