Cal. 36. S# 119213. Bbl. 7 1/2” octagon w/ cone type front sight & New York address. Six shot round cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished brass grip straps. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl., loading lever & wedge have matching numbers. The letter “E” is found below the S# on frame & grip straps indicating factory engraving. Frame, bbl., loading lever & grip straps have Germanic style scroll as done in the shop of master engraver Gustave Young. Hammer has trademark wolf’s head ornamentation. 1 Piece walnut grips. Mfg. 1862 during the American Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: proper period wood casing w/ red velour fitted interior. Case contains powder flask, 2 cavity brass mold, cap tin, case key & round balls. Also included is a sealed package of six combustible envelope cartridges w/ Hazard’s powder. CONDITION: fine. Bbl., cyl. & loading lever retain over 50% finish acquiring a light gray tone. Cyl. has very good scene. Frame retains darkened visible case colors on sides. Grips have 80% nickel finish. Lightly worn grip finish shows scattered scratches & marks. Sound mechanics. Bore shows areas of lightly frosted appearance & light pitting over strong rifling. (01-22832/DS). ANTIQUE. $10,000-15,000.
