Cal. 36. S# 17465. Bbl. 6 1/2", octagon with semi-circular German silver front sight. Five-shot round cyl. with roll-engraved military and naval scenes on oval panels. Third series revolver with a spring plate mounted on the recoil shield. Frame, bbl., and grip straps have vine-type, foliate, scroll engraving with punch-dot backgrounds. Sides of the hammer have wolf head engraving. Original finish was blue and case-colored with a silver-finished brass backstrap and trigger guard. One-piece walnut grip. Approx. 78,000 mfg. 1859-68. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a smooth gray. Grip straps retain traces of silver finish, showing small dents. Grips show wear with numerous small dents and marks. Sound action.
