PISTOL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 482t. Bbl. 4 11/16". Originally mfg. by Erfurt in 1918 for the Imperial German military, this example was subsequently rebarreled with a longer than standard length .30 Luger bbl. While not showing any of the usual indications of a Finnish used Luger, this example is marked with a Pri Garden City import mark, which is commonly associated with Finnish issued Lugers. This example is marked "1918" over the chamber, with Erfurt arsenal inspector proofs and an Imperial German reichsadler (reichsadler repeated on left side of the breechblock) marked on the right. Various parts and components exhibit Erfurt arsenal proofs, as is standard. Bbl. is unnumbered and unproofed. Rear of frame is marked "PRI GARDEN CITY KS/ P08 30 LUGER GERMANY" along the sides of the stock lug. Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl. extension, breechblock, firing pin, and toggles. Trigger bar and grips are unnumbered. MAGS: x1 plated 8-rd. with wood plug. Plug has been renumbered to match at one time, possibly at an arsenal. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting patches and areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Strawed parts exhibit varying degrees of wear, with worn areas fading to a gray patina and exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting and age related discoloration. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting and a ring of mild to moderate pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining strong rifling throughout (rifling weakened in corresponding area towards muzzle). Proper manual mechanics. Grips show moderate smoothing, scattered handling marks, and some impressions from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a small chip to the right of the safety lever. (25-6052/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
