Cal. 22 RF. S# 27482. Bbl. 2 1/4". New Line single action revolver mfg. by Colt circa. 1876. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT NEW 22" within an etched panel, with Colt's mfg. information marked across the top, and patent information marked on the bottom. Left side of the frame is stamped "22 CAL". Brass brass, as well as the steel cyl. and bbl. exhibit a nickel plated finish. Hammer and trigger were nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood birds head grips. Half-moon blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., and bbl. S# handwritten in pencil on the interior of the right grip panel is illegible. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory nickel plated finish, showing areas of flaking and wear that show through to a mellow brass patina and gray patina / dark oxidation. Hammer retains traces of original nitre bluing on its backstrap. Cyl. base pin has broken, with the rear half remaining in the frame. Bore exhibits scattered patches of dark oxidation and pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some wear and scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise sound. (01-27794/MLW). ANTIQUE. $100-200.
