RIFLE. Cal. 308 Win. S# 87801. Bbl. 27 1/4" heavy target with light taper, recessed target crown, flare at receiver and Scandinavian style reduction at muzzle likely to allow fitting of globe sight assembly; has 2 drilled and tapped holes there for Unertl style base. Heavy, light colored European walnut target stock with buttstock altered to allow height adjustment of comb. Right side of butt has blank Swedish style brass disk as used for ballistic info. Left side of buttstock has raised cheekpiece having squared lower rear corner (European style). Forend is cut square with dark walnut cap; also tear drop shaped dark walnut cap on grip. Stippled grip area with RH palm swell of Anschutz style. Butt has white lined brown Pachmayr rubber pad. Long 1 piece trigger guard securing action with 3 metric Allen head screws. Forend has aluminum target rail. Action visible above stock line is round with contour that rolls over the top having a loading / ejection port on the right; bottom is solid without magazine opening for its single shot functioning. Bottom of action is flat and all of action assembly is bedded with Microbed. Left side of action has checkered oval push button bolt release like those used on FN made Browning rifles. Scope base is Weaver style of blued steel with multi slots (not Picatinny style) such as made by EGW. Scope rings are 1" Warne Maxima rings holding gloss finished Leupold 12X-AO scope with fine Duplex reticle and capped target turrets. Bolt is Model 98 style having claw extractor and long handle with pear shaped knob; wing safety is reminiscent of Anschutz style. Unmarked adjustable single stage trigger of Timney style. CONDITION: stock has fragile crack at wrist area on left side that will need immediate attention. Safety is very difficult to engage, but releases normally. Stock has many very light handling marks. Balance of rifle to include metal finish, scope set and bore are all near excellent. (25-3612/NW). MODERN. $400-600.
