This late 18th to very early 19th century European ceremonial sword is most likely British in origin. The sword measures 40 1/4" overall with a very interesting 34" serpentine blade with 25 separate undulations. Hilt measures 6 1/4”. There is a short shallow fuller that has a stamped inscription, and at the end of the fuller is an armorer's mark. Plain 2 branch guard of a semi-basket form with a pillow type pommel and a carved wood grip. No scabbard. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (02-24789/BF). $1000-2000.
