HEN DECOYS. 1) Canvasback drake decoy crafted by Walter Evans (Evans Decoy Company) between 1921-1932. Decoy measures approx. 15" in length, featuring, brown, gray, red, blue, and white plumage, a black bill, as well as red glass eyes. Underside of decoy exhibits 2 holes from a previously mounted weight, with "EVANS DECOY" ink stamped towards the front. CONDITION: decoy shows general overall wear, exhibiting scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, scattered spots of chipping, as well as areas of age related discoloration. Right side exhibits a series of cracks stemming from a knot (or plugged drill hole) in the wood that run from the breast to the tail. 2) Canvasback hen decoy crafted by Walter Evans (Evans Decoy Company) between 1921-1932. Decoy measures approx. 15" in length, featuring white, gray, and brown plumage, with a black bill, as well as red glass eyes. Underside exhibits a triad of holes from a previously mounted weight, and is marked "EVANS DECOY" towards the front. CONDITION: decoy shows general overall wear, exhibiting scattered marks, impressions, and chips. Underside of decoy exhibits a crack that stems from the lower section of the breast.
