Cal. 1 1/2" bore. NSN. Bbl. 14 7/8”. A very interesting ship board line throwing gun used to throw lines ashore or to other ships. This type of gun was used beginning around 1840. Brass bbl. has an engraved mark at the top that reads, “Evans & Low’s Patent No. 21”. Percussion lock. Iron trigger guard & buttplate. Stock has a checkered wrist & finger rails in the forestock. CONDITION: bbl. has a deep ancient patina. There is a slight dent at the side of the muzzle & the rear sight is missing. Lock holds both full & half cock. Stock shows normal wear & tear w/ a tiny piece missing at the base of the butt. (01-17436/BF). $1,500-2,000.
