RIFLE. 58 Cal. smooth 43" octagon bbl. signed "J.D.". Flintlock is marked "Courtney Tennent & Co.". A nicely curled maple stock w/ a 4 piece brass patchbox w/ 10 piercings. 5 1/4" brass toe plate w/ 3 piercings & a silver half moon cheek piece inlay. The stock is very nicely incise carved behind the cheek piece. 8 Silver wedge inlays. John Dreisbach Sr. is one of the earliest gunsmiths in the Synder County school. He is listed from 1789 to 1829 in Mifflinburg. He is noted for his fine craftsmanship. CONDITION: clean & solid throughout..
