This attractive general’s visor cap conforms to the post 1943 regulations. It has a medium sage green wool crown with a dark green wool band. There is fine gold bullion piping around the top & base of the crown & also around the base of the band. The chinstrap is gold bullion & is terminated by 2 gold finished pebbled buttons. The Wehrmacht eagle & the wreath below both are finished in gold. The post 1943, gold finished wreath’s cockade is aluminum on black with a red felt center. Black composite visor with a light tan underside. Sweatband is field green. The interior lining is a light yellow rayon material. The crown has a diamond shaped sweatshield with 1 rounded end. CONDITION: the crown shows a few minor moth tracks but no significant holes or losses. Piping & chinstrap are strong with only very minor discoloration. Insignia retain nearly all of their gilded finish. Visor shows minor wear on the inside. Sweatband shows overall light wear. Liner is a bit dirty & stained but solid. (02-16647-2/BF). $2,800-3,800.
