DAGGER BY BURGSMULLER. A truly superb example of the rare NPEA student's dagger of WWII Germany. The dagger has an overall length of 14 5/8" and a blade length of 8 3/4". The blade is etched with the motto "Mehr sein als scheinen" which translates to "Be modest but always excel". The reverse of the blade is marked " KARL BURGSMULLER BERLIN CHARLOTTENBURG 5 ". Nickle silver crossguard and pommel guard with a beautifully grained cherry wood handle. Painted metal scabbard with elongated frog stud. CONDITION: dagger shows very light wear with scabbard wear only on the blade. Scabbard is undamaged with full green finish. (02-24993/BF). $2,500-3,500.
