F.B. RADOM "1939" DATE WZ.35 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH CORRECT HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 34545. Bbl. 4 5/8". Starting production in 1935, the wz.35 pistol was issued as Poland's standard issue military sidearm until 1939. Of the approx. 90,000 wz.35 pistols ordered by the Polish military, only approx. 49,000 were delivered prior to the German invasion and subsequent occupation of Poland in 1939. This example, mfg. in 1939, is marked "F.B. RADOM/ 1939r.", followed by a Polish eagle coat of arms and "VIS-wz.35/ pat.Nr.15567" on the left side of the slide, with a small Polish eagle proof stamped just forward of the hammer drop catch lever (also present on the left side of the bbl. lug. Both sides of the triggerguard webs exhibit various Polish proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Grip screws exhibit a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, with "FB" within an inverted triangle on the left panel and "VIS" within an inverted triangle on the right panel. Slide features a matte rib, with a blade front sight and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. Rear grip strap is slotted for a stock attachment. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide (interior), as well as the bbl. (on the rear face of the lug). MAGS: 3 pre-war (G/2 within an oval proofed) 8-rd. mags. 1 mag. has been reblued. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: correct, unmarked, pre-war brown leather holster, containing a cleaning rod. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning (predominately on the forward edges of the slide), as well as scattered flecks and spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Grip straps exhibit consistent light to mild surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting and spots of mild pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing some smoothing, as well as some scattered nicks and marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as some areas of light to mild age related cracking and crazing. A very nice example of a seldom encountered Polish pre-war wz.35 pistol, complete with an original holster. (24-6907/MLW). 6,000-9,000.
