OF DANISH CONTRACT FABRIQUE NATIONALE HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOLS WITH HOLSTERS & ARSENAL BOXES. 1) Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 0003. Bbl. 4 5/8". While the Danes procured a contract in 1940 for their own feature specific High Power pistols, the invasion of Belgium ultimately ended the contract before production could commence. After liberation, the Danish contract of approx. 1,700 High Powers was significant, in that they were amongst the very first pistols produced by FN from raw materials after the war. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". The left side of the frame is marked with a Danish "M.1946. HV. 0003" (Haerens Vabenarsenal) property mark. Left side of the frame, slide, and right side of the bbl. exhibit Belgian commercial proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which feature red anti-moisture barrier paint on the interior of the panels. Left side of the frame features a lanyard stud and ring. Thumbprint slide, features a serrated blade front sight, with a dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching via "0003", and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. mag., with blued button type floorplate, and 1 blued 13-rd. mag., with black enamel finished button type floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Danish brown leather holster, stamped with a Danish Crown/HV on the break away flap. Side of mag. pouch is marked "1067" in black marker, with an additional "1067" above a partially discernible name handwritten on the interior of the closure flap. This example is also accompanied by a Danish wax coated cardboard box, with an end label that's S# has been scribbled out and replaced with "0003", as well as notes from Charles Wagner detailing this variation. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild wear (primarily on edges), as well as some scattered superficial handling marks overall. Front grip strap exhibits a few spots of light surface oxidation, with the rear grip strap exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Very bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as scattered marks from handling and storage, with the right panel exhibiting a large loss (approx. 1/5 of the grip) that runs the vertical length of the grip on the right side. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some wear, scattered superficial handling marks, and spots of age related discoloration overall. Box shows some minor wear, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-393/MLW). 2) Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 0004. Bbl. 4 5/8".
