BOLO SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 9mm Para. S# 696484. Bbl. 3 7/8". C96 Bolo semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser and later rechambered to 9x19mm Parabellum, restored, and custom engraved. The top of the bbl. extension is marked with Mauser's mfg. information, with a double crowned "U" commercial proof on the left quarter flat, and the S# marked on the left flat. Top of the bbl. is engraved "9MM PARA". Left side of the frame is marked with the Mauser banner logo, with Mauser's mfg. information having been hand engraved on the right. Frame features near full coverage professionally applied scroll engraving on a punch dot background, with several of the milled panels having been finely stippled. Sides of the bbl. extension feature matching pattern scroll engraving. Floorplate is engraved with light scrollwork around the edges, with a spurious "VON LENGERKE/ & DIETMOLD/ NEW - YORK" marking hand engraved at the center. Frame and bbl. extension exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with the trigger, safety lever, extractor, rear sight slide, and bolt stop exhibiting a reheated nitre blue finish. Frame and hammer have been cleaned and polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece foliate scroll brown Gutta Percha grips. Fixed blade front sight, with tangent V-notch rear sight, graduated 50-1000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, floorplate, hammer, lock frame, locking block, bbl. extension, rear sight, bolt stop, as well as the bolt. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary display case featuring a blue felt interior and containing 1 1950 vintage 25-rd. box of ammunition. CONDITION: very good, as restored, with metal components retaining the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of light to mild pitting beneath the bluing overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined recut rifling throughout. Grips show some wear, as well as some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
