An absolutely beautiful Vickers 1943 dated MK II Spare Parts & Tools Box in amazing condition & very complete. The condition of the wooden crate speaks for itself, measuring approximately 9"x15.5"x7" w/ brass hinges & screws. It utilizes a brass latch to secure it closed & brown leather handles that encompass the entire box on the sides & bottom. These boxes were issued at the platoon or section level to allow for parts replacement or repair without the necessity of taking the guns out of commission to go back to an ordnance armorer for repair. These boxes contain several tools such as a hammer, belt repair tools, belt stretching plug, screwdriver, adjustable spanner wrench, and hundreds of spare parts from entire feed blocks (this kit has 2 brass feed blocks) to springs, belt strips & eyelets, firing pins & lock levers. The contents of these kits varied over the years so we couldn't confirm it's absolutely complete, but there is nothing noticeably missing and all slots are full. This box even contains the 3 small parts tins & the tin w/ the water jacket repair kit. This cataloger has never seen a kit as complete & in such pristine condition. (02-17639/JZ).
