94 WELLS FARGO COMMEMORATIVE LEVER ACTION RIFLE WITH MATCHING FACTORY INSERT & SLEEVE. Cal. 30-30. S# WFC54. Bbl. 20". Model 94 Wells Fargo commemorative lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester. The left side of the bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, followed by the model and cal. designations, with "Wells Fargo & Co. 1852-1977" marked on the right. The left side of the receiver exhibits a scroll engraved border and a scene of a stagecoach, with the right side exhibiting a matching scroll border and "W.F. & CO." above "1852", a small scene of a Wells Fargo storefront, and "1977". Receiver exhibits a silver washed finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish overall. High grade checkered wood straight grip buttstock, with checkered wood forend. Right side of the buttstock is inlaid with a commemorative medallion. Dovetailed blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching factory styrofoam insert, with cardboard sleeve. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory finishes, exhibiting some superficial handling marks overall. Silver washed receiver exhibits areas of age related tarnishing, but is otherwise very good to excellent overall. Lever retains its original factory hang tag. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture is excellent overall, save for a couple of small impressions that are present on the right side of the forend. Cardboard sleeve exhibits mild wear and several tears overall, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. A very nice and attractive example of an extremely early Winchester Wells Fargo Model 94 commemorative rifle. (25-1647/MLW). MODERN. $800-1,200.
